Le huitième essai en vol de Starship se prépare à être lancé ce soir. La fenêtre de lancement s'ouvrira à 00h30 heure de Paris.

Après avoir terminé l'enquête sur la perte de Starship au début de son septième essai en vol, plusieurs modifications matérielles et opérationnelles ont été apportées pour augmenter la fiabilité de l'étage supérieur.

Le vol à venir suivra la même trajectoire suborbitale que les missions précédentes et ciblera des objectifs non atteints lors du test précédent, notamment le premier déploiement de la charge utile de Starship et de multiples expériences de rentrée visant à ramener l'étage supérieur sur le site de lancement pour la capture.

Le vol comprend également le lancement, le retour et la capture du booster Super Heavy.
