la licence opensource est différente
celle du kernel Linux imposte de partager les modifs que tu fais alors que BSD est plus permissif sur ce point

bah c'est les entreprises qui utilisent ça dans leur appareils et te vendent l'appareil

ça s'utilise pour quelques truc pointu en réseau notamment, mais ça doit être très rare j'ai jamais eu l'occasion d'en voir.
